Allen Park — Usually, I have a pretty good feel for what the Detroit Lions will do in the first round of the draft. Last year, I pegged the Jarrad Davis selection. The year before, I had the right position, wrong player, when slotting Jack Conklin to Detroit. He ended up going a few picks earlier to the Tennessee Titans and the Lions landed Ohio State’s Taylor Decker, a happy consolation.

So allow me to present my final mock draft, a reflection of educated guesswork, that is tested starting with the very first pick of the draft. You’ll soon see I’ve slotted a defensive lineman to the Lions, but one that could easily be off the board by the time they’re on the clock. The selection, more than anything, is indicative of the direction I believe the Lions will go Thursday night. Given the roster makeup and position value, give me BDLA — best defensive lineman available — edge rusher or tackle, whoever it may be.

He also did not rule out Cutler going into the broadcast booth with FOX, something he was expected to do last year before an opportunity to join the Miami Dolphins arose. He was set to be part of the network’s No. 2 team along with Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis on NFL

All of those hoping to hear Cutler talk about his former team had their dreams dashed when an injury occurred to Miami Dolphins signal-caller Ryan Tannehill during the summer. Dolphins head coach Adam Gase worked with Cutler in 2015 in Chicago and called upon his former QB for some help. On August 3, Cutler signed with the Dolphins, casting aside his television booth dreams. He signed a one-year Cheap Hats And Jerseys deal and was named the team’s starter for Week 1. In 14 starts for the Dolphins he completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,666 yards with 19 touchdowns and 14 Cheap Fan Jerseys interceptions. As a starter he went 6-8.
