The Rockies and D-Backs have a better record than every non-Dodgers team this season except for Astros (71-40) and the Nationals (66-44). They’re percentage points ahead of the AL East-leading Red Sox. Arizona, holder of the second wild card thanks to Colorado’s half-game lead, is 5.5 up on the Brewers, who are next in line for the postseason spot. The Blue Jays are five games back of the second AL wild card, the Tigers six back, and they have six and seven teams ahead in between them, respectively.
Neither Colorado nor Arizona has been dominant like the Dodgers, but with the way things are going, you might be able to say that about all but a few teams in the history of the game when 2017 is over. Still, the Rockies are succeeding despite negative contributions from key players like Carlos Gonzalez and Trevor Story, while the D-Backs have quietly scored 114 more runs than they’ve allowed and should have the second-best record in the NL based on that differential.
At the same time the NL is giving us much of the same — the Nats, Cubs, and Cheap Custom Jerseys Dodgers are all potentially headed to the playoffs again — we’re also getting the Rockies and D-Backs. And the Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Brewers, just 1.5 back of the Cubs, still have a great chance of making it three new postseason teams come October.
